We put up the post and rail....yes, everyone here (including me--marisa) was needed for the process...

As you can see, the fence was removed from between the two yards and placed on the outer boundary of the yard facing the neighbor's yard.

We began working on the yard by clearing a path. Let me explain, as you may have noticed, there are several pieces of random stuff in the yard. Also, the branches of the trees have never been trimmed except in secret, because my mother was a tree in her past life. I forgot to post this picture last time:

The after picture also shows a sundry of tools collected for various projects throughout the years by my dad and Paulzie and me.

The rest of the pictures are of the other progress. Paul's done most of this as I have yucky icky work hours, and school during the week. He's done a great job. Take a look: We have gotten a lot working on the yard. We really appriciate our friends Hai, Marco, Nick, Sayward, Nichole, and Will for their continued help in this project.

I'm learning how to use this blogger maker, so I must apologize for my funky set-up, but at least you can see the progress.

For many years, Paulzie and I have planned to have our Rehearsal Dinner at his parents' home, and the reception at my parents' home. We also have planned for many years that our wedding would be outside. As we began scouting wedding sites, we found that the place we felt was most beautiful was my parents' backyard--after we planned the landscape. Now, as we landscape the backyard, we'll show your our progress.

We began planning the great landscape on 3300 square feet of land. Here are some pictures of how it looked:
A picture from the front (west), right (south) corner. Please note: Paul and I decided to plant a vineyard (we named "monton abono") 2 years ago. My dad had his own plans. Since we'd have to water our precious grapes frequently, he planted a peach tree in our vineyard!! (please also note that his peach tree is still alive...dar, them bunny rabbits)
A picture from the back (east). That's Smokey, Ana's and Nichole's (perfect nieces) dog.
And, of course, an obstacle--the clutter. This yard has held chickens, sheep, rabbits, and a rotted wooden jungle gym-type structure (which, Paul and I removed 2 years ago so that our grapes would have a nice view).
